Distribution of Real Estate Assets in Germany

As with other types of asset, real estate is unevenly distributed between low and high earners, old and young, employed and unemployed and western and eastern Germany. Approximately half of the population own land and buildings, with the wealthiest fifth owning 75 per cent of all property. There has been no noticeable change in this distribution in recent years.
