BQ-Portal

„The BQ Portal – The information portal for foreign vocational qualifications“ supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy helps companies and relevant local authorities to better assess foreign vocational qualifications.

In doing so, it also makes a contribution to securing the supply of skilled labour in Germany. The website offers information about foreign vocational training systems and appropriate procedures and methods for evaluating them. Practical instructions and relevant examples show how vocational qualifications obtained abroad can be checked for their equivalence to their German counterparts. The BQ Portal focuses on non-academic vocational qualifications corresponding to the dual training system and the further training and master qualifications in Germany. The internet platform is intended to facilitate the nationwide harmonisation of adjudication procedures in the organisations responsible for the recognition of foreign vocational qualifications. A further aim is to enable employers to better assess the qualifications of foreign job applicants, thus improving the opportunities for skilled workers from abroad on the German labour market.

Partners

The BQ Portal is run by the German Economic Institute (IW). The IW experts in cooperation with the competent bodies are continuously working on the conceptual and content development of the portal until the end of 2018. ]init[ AG is the project partner responsible for technical design and implementation.
