Sustainability has become a driver for modern life, for our economies and for society. Manufacturers are looking to produce in a resource efficient way and consumers ask for sustainable products.
The traceability and transparency of products are cornerstones of the EU's Circular Economy Action Plan. Tracking product components across complex and deep supply chains can yet be challenging. And trustworthy information on products is critical for the digital and green transition to succeed. Can the Digital Product Passport offer a solution?
At the start of the trilogues on the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), we hope to stimulate a discussion that looks ahead and provides learnings from business initiatives and projects that are piloting the implementation of a Digital Product Passport. Together we want to explore the opportunities and challenges ahead for the Digital Product Passport, including from a transatlantic perspective.
